Driven by passion and excitement in the latest research and techniques in the field, Bensonhurst Endodontics & Dental Implants strives to deliver un-compromised, unbiased, and excellent treatment in the endodontic and periodontic fields.
Led by Dr. Howard H. Wang, the team is excited to bring their expertise and training to serve the Bensonhurst, Brooklyn area. Dr. Wang is one of only a handful of dual specialists trained in both periodontics and endodontics, and that multi-disciplinary training equips Dr. Wang to deliver an unbiased treatment plan based on either periodontal and/or endodontic approaches to deliver the best possible outcome for the patient, whether that be to provide root canal treatment or surgery and save a tooth, or, if appropriate, atraumatic extraction of a very diseased tooth and replacement with a dental implant. He also performs other dental surgeries such as bone grafting, sinus lifts, gum surgeries and gum grafts.

Endodontics is the dental specialty that focuses on the dental pulp (the portion of the tooth containing the nerves, blood vessels and connective tissues), including the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of diseases and injuries of the dental pulp. Endodontists utilize a variety of procedures and techniques, including root canal therapy and surgery, to treat infections and other issues with the dental pulp.
Periodontics is the dental specialty that focuses on the supporting structures of the tooth, including the gingiva (gums), and underlying bone structures. Periodontists specializes in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of periodontal disease and the placement of dental implants.
Periodontics also specialize in the placement of dental implant systems and solutions, which involve placing an artificial tooth root into the gums and jaw to hold a replacement tooth (a crown or bridge). As specialists in treating the gums and supporting structure, periodontists are uniquely qualified to place and maintain dental implants.
